Locker Room Hallway and Locker Room Access Policy
(11 November, 2015)
In addition to the development of our hockey players and enjoyment of the sport of hockey, the safety, security and protection of our participants is central to Kent Valley Hockey Association (KVHA) goals. KVHA adheres to USA Hockey’s SafeSport Program as a means to help protect its participants from physical abuse, sexual abuse and other types of misconduct, including emotional abuse, bullying, threats, harassment and hazing. To help prevent abuse or misconduct from occurring in our locker rooms or associated locker room hallways, KVHA has adopted the following policy. This policy is designed to maintain personal privacy as well as to reduce the risk of misconduct in locker rooms and the associated locker room hallways.

USA Hockey Policy on Locker Room Supervision (June 2010)
A couple of notes on this policy... our youth players need to know that their hockey environment is safe. This policy ensures that a responsible adult is looking over their shoulders at all times. Of course, all locker room monitors should be gender correct and the co-ed locker room policy must be followed as described in the current USA Hockey Guide. Also, all monitors must be screened and otherwise meet all USA Hockey screening standards.

The issue of co-ed dressing arrangements in locker rooms continues to come up, and Kent Valley Hockey Association is addressing the issue with the following Policy based on USA Hockey’s recommendation. Coaches and Team Managers must make certain that two properly screened adults are present in locker room settings to supervise. Arrange to provide supervisors who are of the same sex as the children they are to protect. Please follow Coaching Ethics guidelines. These guidelines are for Pee Wee levels and above, and may be followed at Mite and Squirt if requested.

Player Refund Policy (Updated 1 June, 2017)
The purpose of this policy is to clarify KVHA’s position on refunds so they are processed without bias. KVHA feels that once a player registers, a spot on a roster has been taken by that player and the player is responsible to complete the season, both physically and financially.
